Did
You Know That a Company at the Forefront of Digital Asset Management
is Located Right Here in Detroit?
Detroit, MI--Did
you know that several international cable stations use a Detroit-based
company for video indexing? Did you know that revenue generating strategies
for your personal and business archives are just a phone call away?
Did you know that research services on historic neighborhoods and buildings
can be provided for your renovation project? Did you know that a company
at the forefront of digital asset management is located right here in
Detroit?
Archive Impact has
positioned itself as the only company in Detroit to offer digital asset
management and archival services to a growing list of international
business clientele. The company's consulting services target solutions
for the organization, storage and retrieval of multimedia records. Archive
Impact has coordinated and implemented digitization plans for a variety
of public and private institutions, and has worked with small non-profit
organizations and large global corporations.
Ten years ago, Archive
Impact began by supplying information services to the automotive industry,
and soon expanded its client base to include archives, libraries, corporations,
graphics and stock houses, film producers and television channels. Archive
Impact has indexed more than 700,000 images and thousands of hours of
footage for clientele throughout the world. Projects have involved:
· Indexing
lithographs and maps to enable public library access
· Writing grants for an African-American oral history proposal
· Creating a revenue-generating archive for a Fortune 100 company
· Offering 24 hour research services for global clients
· Developing a thesaurus of more than 30,000 terms
· Indexing 20,000 images in one week
· Conducting a warehouse appraisal of over 20,000 boxes of archival
materials
· Planning and executing the physical transfer of 3,000 boxes
of archival material from one central location to several repositories
Archive Impact President,
Kim Schroeder, a Wayne State University Library and Information Science
graduate attributes her firm's success in Detroit, in part, to the result
of recruiting talented employees from the area. A staff of 40 librarians,
archivists and information management personnel contribute diverse professional
training and educational backgrounds to the success of Archive Impact.
Day-to-day production specialists, field experts and senior consultants
function in a range of capacities to strengthen the depth of the company.
As Archive Impact
continues to grow, its combination of local roots and worldwide clientele
will publicize the opportunities for business and technology in Detroit
to a global market. Archive Impact's commitment to the city is firmly
established by the company's presence in the historic Book Tower Building,
and the development of products such as an interactive CD-ROM showcasing
Detroit history. The company will continue to direct projects that will
generate public awareness and enthusiasm about the history and culture
of Detroit. Future plans include the addition of new research services
in such areas as historic building research and period authentication,
the expansion of the company's photo stockhouse and the development
of multimedia educational products.
